4 Day 3 Valleys & Berber Villages Trek

The 4 Day 3 Valleys & Berber Villages Trek in the Atlas Mountains is a perfect introduction to trekking in Morocco. It will provide you with an insight into authentic & traditional Berber culture as well as some amazing views of the High Atlas Mountains.
During the 4 days you will hike amongst cool vegetation with juniper and pine trees for perfect shade breaks, across deep gorges, gushing river streams and groves of cherry and walnut trees. You guide will explain the culture and history behind the different areas you trek through, spending time in many different Berber villages along the way.
Whilst walking through the valleys you will come across many Berber villages and hamlets belonging to the ethnic Berbers. These herding and farming communities are used to tourists and are more than happy to allow you to interact with them to know more about their traditions and customs and will be more than happy to invite you into their homes to have mint tea with them.
You will be accompanied by a mule, muleteer and guide every step of the way who will take care of your every need, all you need to do is walk and enjoy the scenery.

Day 1: Marrakech – Imlil – Tacheddirt
You will leave Marrakech after breakfast and drive to Imlil. This is where you will meet your guide and mule team for the three day trek. Once all your gear is loaded you will begin walking towards the valley of Tacheddirt. The trial climbs up to the pass of Tizi n’Tamatert (2279m) where you will be rewarded with amazing views of the High Atlas Mountains and both the Valley of Imlil and the Valley of Imnane. You will then descend to the village of Ouanesekra (2200m) in the Imnane Valley and following another half hour or so trekking you will arrive in the village of Tacheddirt where you have the choice of camping near the riverside or staying in a Berber Gite. Approx. 4 to 5 hours walking.
Day 2: Tacheddirt – Imsker
After breakfast you will leave Tacheddirt and head to Imsker (1300m). You will head down the Imnane Valley passing through the following Berber villages: Ounskra, Tamguiste, Ikkis, Ammssakrou and Arg where will you will have the opportunity to see the local community going about their daily lives. When you reach Imsker you will have the choice to spend the night in a local gite or a tent. Approx. 6 hours walking.
Day 3: Imsker – Tizi Oussem
Today’s trek will see you head from Imsker (1300m) to Tizi Oussem (1900m). You will pass via Tizi n’Lbour pass (1500m), Imlil Valley, Tizi n’Tacht pass (2000m) and Ait Aissa Village (Azzaden Valley). Today will provide you with some amazing photo opportunities of the valleys and summits of the High Atlas Mountains. You will spend the night in Tizi Oussem in a local gite. Approx. 6 hours walking.
Day 4: Tizi Oussem – Imlil – Marrakech
After breakfast you will depart Tizi Oussem (1900m) and trek to Imlil (1740m) via Ighouliden Waterfalls (2400m) and Tizi Mzik Pass (2450m). Once in Imlil you will meet your transfer back to Marrakech. Approx. 4 hours walking.
